The Individual Development Program, which is a self-confidence-building program, designed for women of all ages. It helps to refine skills in effective communication, networking, negotiation, interviewing, effective leadership and working with the media. ** This program is currently being revamped. Below are samples from previous years. The Individual Development Program provides training and practice opportunities in public speaking, general communication and job performance skills. It is a self confidence building program designed to develop and refine skills in effective communication, networking, negotiation, interviewing, effective leadership and working with the media. It introduces participants to the Mission and Vision of BPW/USA, to build powerful women, personally, professionally and politically.

Individual Development Program Information ![]()
The Young Careerist Program which recognizes the political, professional and personal achievements of young professional women and men. Individuals can polish their interviewing, legislative knowledge and public speaking skills through competition. BPW USA National President Virginia Allan's commitment to the development and the careers of younger individuals led her to spearhead the formation of the Young Careerist Program in 1964. The program recognizes the accomplishments of young, upcoming leaders and provides them visibility, along with personal and professional development opportunities.

The Career Recognition Program seeks to recognize the achievements of women re-entering the workforce or women who have experienced an exceptional occurrence in their position. Through competition, this program will sharpen interviewing and public speaking skills.The Career Recognition Program recognizes the achievements of women who are new to the workforce as a result of a career change; who have earned an exceptional achievement/advancement in a position; or who have returned to the workforce after an absence of at least three years.

The Youth Leadership Program is a weekend seminar, which challenges high school girls to new career options by offering workshops, networking and mentoring. The Annual Youth Leadership Conference offers an opportunity to introduce BPW to women of High School age and to offer them leadership and life programs
